CURRENT INFORMATION ON THE PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTING REGIONAL FACILITY "THE INDOOR CENTRE"

TIC is a four lane cricket sized + indoor facility capable of supporting all sport codes for training, indoor cricket games along with many other uses.

The committee meets on a regular basis and has achieved the following -

Resource Consent for the project has been granted by Auckland Council through the Karaka Sports Park Trust endeavours.

Agreement has been reached between CMCA and Karaka Cricket to co-fund the project in conjunction with The Friends of The Indoor Centre.

We are hopeful that we will receive some funding from Northern Districts and Karaka Sports Ground Society.

We are now starting to apply for money from the various Gaming Trusts and are awaiting council approval of the leased area.

We are looking for a major sponsor.

We have two quotations for the building that are similar but need more detail once we are closer to raising the funds required and the project is closer to pressing the go button.

Ross Davison (KSPT Engineer) is currently looking at land levels and possible retaining walls and stormwater diversion.

The committee consists of Roger Wark (Chairman), Bill McEntee (Vice Chair) and Murray Shaw (Treasurer)

Jaden Waddell (KCC), Louise Hough (CMCA), Theresa Christie (Funding) and Vicki Thorburn (Secretary).

We are all poised that the amber light now and raring to press the go button but I feel there may be a couple of hurdles to jump over before the green light shines.
